The market prediction competition is back!
It will last for 10 weeks, with a grand prize of $1000 to the winner.
Dear subscribers,
finally, the prediction competition is back! This time it will be one big long game, lasting 10 weeks, where each week you will be able to give your weekly predictions for the Friday close (you already know the drill!).
Also, this time, instead of doing it month-by-month, we’re turning it into a full-on competition with a grand prize of $1000 to the winner (if this works well, next year we’re gonna increase the prize money tenfold). Given that the competition ends on December 17th, the current $1000 prize could turn out to be a nice Christmas present!
Rules. (also available within the app)
The competition is organized in the following way. Each participant fills out the entire survey and answers the designated “forecasting” questions – the questions which are clearly marked with the following sentence: “this question is counted towards your forecasting score”.
These are questions about predicting the value of Bitcoin, the 10-year T-bill yield, the Dow, the S&P500, WTI oil price, and for the next 10 weeks four stocks have been added: Apple, Tesla, GameStop, and AMC. In each case we’re asking about the prediction for the Friday close of the same week.
Why these particular stocks? The first two typically have the highest volume of trading, while the last two are meme stocks. Let’s see how good are you at anticipating retail sentiment :)
Our hypothesis is that correctly predicting meme stocks will be more difficult than predicting everything else. Then again, we thought the same for Bitcoin back when we launched the first survey, and it turned out we were wrong - the BASON was good at predicting Bitcoin as well as all other indicators.
To remind you:
Furthermore, for those of you who actively participate in the competition each week, not only are you eligible for the final prize, you also get access to the BASON prediction for each indicator. The predictions are made public each Thursday evening, but if you participate in the competition, you can get the info on Wednesday morning before the markets open. This will give you plenty of time to devise a profitable strategy for the end of trading of that week.
To remind you once again, we’ve tested this as well, and it does work:
Or you can just watch on the sidelines and see how we’re doing. It’s entirely up to you.
Either way, we invite you to participate in the competition, compete with your friends on Twitter, share your success, and hey, maybe you even earn some money along the way!
And, as always, don’t forget to subscribe!
